Math Infection is a 2D top-down Shoot ‘Em Up (aka Shmup) designed to help elementary-level students with arithmetic. Each time the player touches an enemy, he/she is required to choose the correct answer to an arithmetic problem. If the answer is correct, the player does not lose health.
Math Infection was our final project in an intermediate course at the University of California, Santa Cruz called Game Design Experience and was built in C# using the XNA Framework. The team consisted of me, Andrew Pan, Jason Eala, and Derrick Wong. Together we are known as Team DEPW. I fixed game bugs, implemented the player character, and created art assets for the player, HUD, and title screen. This was the first project I used any sort of repository (GitHub) or revision control system (Git).
